Guangzhou Yuexiu District is an old and very important part of Guangzhou, with immense cultural background and historical value. The existing buildings in this project were renovated from a storehouse to a wholesale market. In 2005 much in keeping with the surrounding market area which flourished since the late 1980s. 

This is the first refurbishment project in this popular area, and it’s proximity next to the airport highway, Guangyuan city route, Guangzhou Station and Sanyuanli Metro, make the project an attractive addition to both the local area and greater city. The purpose this time around, is to refurbish and fully re-plan the mall, add an office tower to provide better mixed-use facilities and add commercial value, introduce more public spaces for pedestrians and, not least to serve the customers with a better environment. 

The façade uses a simple random mix of two triangular panels with opposing finishes (reflective and non-reflective) to create a modern and contemporary look that is inspired by fashion design.
