Wilson Wong studied architecture for 2 years as an undergraduate in the School of Architecture at the University of New South Wales, Australia. He completed his studies and professional training in Hong Kong. He holds a Master of Architecture degree and Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies from The University of Hong Kong. He is now a Senior Architectural Designer in PH Alpha.
Before joining PH Alpha, Wilson worked in both local and international architecture firms, including LWK & Partners (HK), Benoy Ltd, and AEDAS.
During his professional career, Wilson has been in charge of architectural projects of varying scales, ranging from conceptual to constructional stages and he is especially experienced in masterplanning, retail, and mixed-use schemes.
Besides works, Wilson is also actively involving in the local Art and Culture in Hong Kong and his most recent projects are the two “Theatrical Spatial Devices” (Set Designs) created for two different drama performances (《原塑》and《顾。盼我。城》) in collaboration with a local drama company in 2014 and 2015. The latter design has recently been nominated for the “Best Theatrical Effect” by The 7th Hong Kong Theatre Libre, which will be held in June, 2015.
To Wilson, being “Architectural” is beyond merely being capable of mastering building and spatial design: it is to develop a Creative Attitude, or even, Methodology of Thinking. Transcending from its usual mode of existence (i.e. building form), Architecture can appear in various forms. Its preciousness lies in its ability to confront people, in any aspects of life and trigger continuous, as well as, collective dialogues on many different issues and experiences.
