Baiyun Lake Jinbo Plaza
Project Summary
Location: Guangzhou, China
Total Area: 56,444 sqm
Service: Architectural、Interior
Baiyun Lake Jinbo Plaza is situated at the intersection of Guanghua 1st Road and Airport Expressway in Baiyun District, Guangzhou. It forms a TOD commercial hub directly above the Xia Mao Station of Metro Lines 22 and 24. Located within the redevelopment site of the Xia Mao Village-level Industrial Park, the project is jointly developed by Guangzhou Urban Renewal (a subsidiary of Pearl River Industrial Group) and the Xia Mao Economic Cooperative. It represents a significant implementation of Guangzhou's urban renewal strategy. As the first large-scale commercial complex in Baiyun Lake Digital Technology City, the opening of Baiyun Lake Jinbo Tiandi fills a commercial void in the area. It also sets a new benchmark for driving regional economic development, industrial upgrading, improving living environments, and stimulating commercial vitality. PHA was commissioned by Jinbo Commercial to lead the architectural design and core atrium concept. Drawing inspiration from Lingnan's landscape aesthetics, the project successfully transforms a village-level industrial park into a new urban landmark blending regional character with modern commercial vitality. Centered on a “Landscape Narrative,” the design reinterprets Baiyun Lake's rippling waters and shoreline into a fresh spatial expression. The facade integrates cultural elements from Lingnan's traditional dragon dances and lanterns, employing corrugated aluminum panels and color-blocked aluminum strips to create a cohesive, unified form. The main facade's ultra-wide folded glass curtain wall not only emphasizes the prominence of the main entrance but also creates a visual effect where Baiyun Lake Village appears and disappears, delivering a fresh shopping experience.
