HongKong Land The Ring · Garden City

Project Summary

Location: Chongqing, China
Project area: 170,000 sq m
Service: Architecture Design
Open Time: 2025

The Ring · Garden City is located in the heart of Asia's largest Central Park, seamlessly integrating its exceptional natural resources with a multi-dimensional transportation network featuring six horizontal and seven vertical routes, along with dual rail transit for city-wide accessibility. This project encompasses a variety of functions, including shopping, office, leisure, ecology, arts, culture, and tourism. By blending low-density eco-commercial districts with a humanistic setting, it creates an urban ecological entertainment and shopping park, establishing itself as a new hub of vitality.

The Ring · Garden City is composed of three interconnected plots, with varying elevations from east to west and north to south. This presented a significant planning challenge. Inspired by Chongqing’s unique mountainous landscape, PHA utilized the differences in elevation to create layered and terraced spaces. This design approach mitigates the impact of the site's expansive scale, transforming it into an expression of natural architectural beauty. The plots are connected through aerial walkways, linking spaces to form the A Mall, B Mall, and the outdoor "Youli" street area, providing a diverse and immersive commercial experience.

With a total area of 170,000 square meters, the design draws from Chongqing’s mountain and water landscapes as its central theme. Unique features such as multi-ground-level streets, rooftop garden, and six innovative experiential spaces collectively create the ambiance of a mountain town. The facade employs varying materials to evoke the beauty of nature, crafting the illusion of a "village in the clouds" shrouded in mist, offering a distinctly Chongqing-style urban ecological paradise.
